The woman with the dark glasses is the owner of the house. (Ellen Lindsey ?)
Never imagining that water would even reach her house she stuck it out. At the height of
the storm, the surge flooded her house with inky black water. With it up to her neck,
she managed to find an interior door and get it open. This let some of the water out of the room
she was in and kept the water from going over her head. I don't know how long the water stayed
that deep but she would have still been wet the next day when her son managed to get through to her.
